Hydrogen leak detection and process gas measurement

H2scan’s GRIDSCAN 5000 monitors alert transformer owners when their assets enter an abnormal state, prompting action to avoid premature or catastrophic failure. The GRIDSCAN 5000’s low cost, ease of deployment and operating life makes it ideal for continuous transformer fleet-wide health monitoring.

The GRIDSCAN 5000's unique solid-state technology offers zero maintenance using its patented daily auto calibration for the sensor’s 10+ year life use. The patented H2scan sensor is recognized as the industry gold standard. It provides true set-and-forget monitoring (no more monitoring the monitor), allowing maintenance teams to focus on distressed assets, thus reducing OPEX and extending the life of all transformer assets.

GRIDSCAN 5000

Introducing H2scan’s GRIDSCAN solid state, auto calibrating, transformer monitoring solution. With GRIDSCAN’s real-time, online, continuous monitoring capabilities and zero maintenance over its 10+ year life use, we identified a number of pain points that GRIDSCAN resolves around preventative/predictive maintenance and overall improved uptime. OpEx reduction is achieved with our daily auto-calibration feature for the full guaranteed 10+ year life use. CapEx budgetary constraints associated with multi-gas analysers have traditionally prevented mass monitoring deployment over a utility’s fleet but GRIDSCAN is priced at 1/20th the cost of such solutions, making it cost effective to be deployed en masse over a utility’s transformer fleet.

Some of the key GRIDSCAN features include:

  1. Auto-calibration ( zero maintenance over its 10+ year life use)
  2. Real-time, online, continuous monitoring ( updated as much as every 5 seconds, 160GB of data generated )
  3. H2 metal alloy sensor element will not degrade over time
  4. Compact, easy installation ( ~2 hours )
  5. Installed in the transformer's gas or oil space while energized
  6. H2 is the first key fault gas. Monitor H2 trending to take manual oil sample analysis when needed
  7. Move from time-based maintenance to condition based maintenance
  8. FM Global Insurance certification for prevention of transformer asset loss
  9. ~1/20th the price of a multi-gas analyser
